FREQUENTLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS

Do I need Ceramic Coating for my vehicle?
Most of you have already heard by now from people you already know or people at the car shows you go to, Ceramic Coating is the “next best thing “or one of those “must haves“ for your vehicle.

IS IT REALLY TRUE? WHAT IS THE HYPE ABOUT?
My name is Sam, and I am the owner/operator here at Bubblezz Auto Spa, a small local specialty auto detailing studio in Huntington Station New York. I have been detailing for over 15 years as a passion, learning from industry leaders, and mentors, reaching out to the company representatives themselves, trying to gain information about new products, their purpose and
intended use, what’s their longevity, and most importantly how it serves the needs. The internet can be a confusing place, and it's very easy to get bombarded and sidetracked by the plethora of information readily available at the click of a button. A term that’s more commonly used is “information overload.” This post is a small attempt to simplify the “information overload “process and
hopefully educate you as a wise discerning consumer about the process. Let me start by saying Ceramic Coatings are not bulletproof. To maximize the effectiveness of the coatings there is regular minimal maintenance that’s involved. Does ceramic Coating simplify the Maintenance process? ABSOLUTELY! Ceramic coating is essentially a Chemical substrate that’s applied after a Paint correction (the process of removing surface defects, swirls, minor scratches, etc. to give you that mirror-like candy finish) and a thorough and intense prep process to the exterior of the vehicle. Think of it as an additional level of clear coat on top
of your existing clear coat, (usually measured in microns or mils) The intended surface needs to be completely free of any external contaminants that would restrict the chemical bonding process. Once applied, there is a cure time depending on the type of coating and the hardness level. How well the coating adheres to the surface is directly dependent on the prep process.

The better the prep the more effective your coating!
Once the coating is applied, the professional will spend time looking over every inch of the applied surface with a fine-tooth comb to ensure there are no visible smudges, high spots, or any other surface-level imperfections that would inhibit the shine or reflective surface. If there are any concerns, then there is a very short window within which it can be corrected. Once that is done, the process is nearly finished. Let the vehicle sit in a contaminant-free area to cure. Usually, it is best to wait at least 24 hours before picking up. Once you have the vehicle, here comes the easy part. Maintenance! There are a ton of products available in the market if you are a DIY or you can always bring it back to your professional installer for a maintenance follow-up.

Is Ceramic Coating for everyone? No! BUT ...
If you have purchased a new vehicle and you want to ensure it stays looking new for a long period then, yes, Ceramic coating is a good investment for you over the life of ownership. If you want to have the glossiest, shiny-looking car at the next family BBQ or car meet then YES, Ceramic Coating is a good investment for you. If you take a lot of pride in your car and love the feeling that you get from compliments from people who drool over how beautiful and clean your car looks then YES, Ceramic Coating is for you!!

& lastly,

Protect your car’s shiny armor (clear coat) from the sun’s harmful UV rays, the bugs and tree sap, road salt, and grime with an added layer of protection that is easy to maintain, lasts, and ultimately gives you a worry and hassle-free ownership experience.

After reading this hopefully, there has been a bit more clarity in terms of Ceramic Coatings. It’s always best to consult with your professional installer regarding your specific vehicle to get the best results because every vehicle is different even when they come right off the assembly line. Let the professional installer educate you and guide you as to what is the best-suited option for you.
